Appointments are easy to schedule, and the folks who work at this office are very friendly. Parking is usually available right in front of the office, and it's not far from the commuter rail if you don't drive. My new dental insurance isn't accepted at Maewall, but I'd happily drive the 30 minutes from home if it were.
We've been going to Dr. Maewall for years, even though for us she is out of network on our insurance. That's how much we value her gentle, caring practice. They are good at coordinating with our insurance for what they will pay out of network, so paperwork is kept to a minimum for us. We've also had an emergency where Dr. Maewall came in on a weekend, which was very much appreciated. No one likes going to the dentist but this is as painless as it gets!
I initially went here after reading the reviews on Yelp, and after being frightened of the dentist after my last dental visit elsewhere...
They booked my appointment within a week, and when I arrived, everyone was considerate and knew what they were doing. Took about 5 minutes to fill out paperwork and I was in the chair and X-rays were done. Dr. Maewall took the time to listen to my worries and any problems I was having, and then the hygienist cleaned my teeth.
Seriously. The least painful cleaning I have ever had. And she continually asked if I was ok or if anything hurt.
Dr. Maewall came back afterward to check everything out and sat down to go over every single x-ray they had taken - even took the time to explain what a cavity looked like and point out any specific things I asked about.
When I left, everything was covered by insurance (no copay), and I got a goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss!

Dr. Maewall is absolutely amazing! She works extremely hard and is supremely careful to make sure she is giving the most excellent care. Would highly sincerely recommend to anyone- especially those who may be scared of the dentist! She has a great heart and her amazing education background has truly made her into a phenomenal dentist! Made the best decision leaving my dentist for her. Love the facility as well- very clean, warming, and easy to make appointments. Dr. Maewall is the best in the WWW (Weston, Wayland, Waltham) area!!
Big clean offices, plenty of parking, nice talkative people. Got to watch TV while I got my teeth cleaned. Secretary went out of her way to call my insurance to inquire about a claim I had gotten elsewhere. Don't know what else I would want from a dentist
Great doctor specially with young children. I have been going to Dr. Maewall for years with my daughter. The office is well run and Dr. Maewall is very good with children. Working with kids requires more than skill. It requires a special understanding of how to work with them. Dr. Maewall gets what children need. For example she lets me sit next to my daughter and hold her hand. That by itself makes a world of difference to my daughter.
The office is well run and has a warm feeling. It does not frighten kids.

The doctor is respectful and intelligently discusses options with me. There are often many options in treating a tooth. For example you could get a veneer, a crown or a filling. Among crowns there are many choices of material. I have had several crowns put on by her. In each instance we discussed the best choice based on the location and my preference. She gave me the information and I made the decision
